Monday, day 5 of our trip, Benjie offered to stay home and take care of Rafael while we toured Florence on our own. She dropped us off the train station which isn't too far from their house. The train ride took about half an hour to downtown Florence. Like Rome, Florence is a popular tourist destination so it was easy to communicate as almost everyone could at least understand if not speak english. First stop was the Duomo which was about a 10 minute walk from the station. The rest was about 5 minutes away.
Grabbed some pizza for lunch then toured the Duomo, Via Tornaboni (Row of signature stores of which we had no interest checking out except for those who asked us to get buy them something), Piazza Republica, then Ponte Vecchio.
We spent a good 6 hours in Florence then decided it was time to head back. Afterwards, we had pizza also for dinner. We all just stayed home as it was Marco's last night before heading to the Military training in Verona he signed up for.
Rafael enjoying the company of his older cousins. They took turns taking care of Rafael.
Rafael finally falling asleep off Angelo's arms.
