Italy: Day 6 & 7

Yesterday, we dropped off Marco at the Military training facility in Verona (around 90 kms north of Florence).

He will be there for a year but will be able to get some weekends off. It must've felt like sending your son off to the university for Bruno and Benjie though this is obviously more serious than that. I felt sad myself knowing that we won't see Marco when we fly back to the States. I had wanted to take photos but Marco said that it isn't permitted so these were all I could get with my limited view from the car.

Last night, Angelo's girlfriend, Alessandra baked a cake for us and while waiting played with Rafael..

Today, Benjie dropped us off by Montecatini Terme while she did her errands. We spent most of the time in the park near the downtown hotels. From a distance, Rafael saw a bunch of cars for kids and immediately motioned that he wanted to give it a try. We chose this remote-controlled red truck. It was so cool that we controlled the truck while Rafael just sat there enjoying the ride.

This street (like most) looks like the 1940's only with newer cars.
