Over the months, Gra'ma's cactus collection has grown. The variety ranges from common-looking ones to the more exotic. They're so well-taken care of that they are covered by an umbrella when it rains! She's also added a few more plants to our patio that it looks more like a nursery now. It actually makes for a very refreshing sight. The plants have certainly given life to the patio.
Here are some photos of Gra'ma's cactuses:
this is one of the unique ones...i've never seen anything like it.
this is actually a really big cactus. it's about 7 inches in diameter making it also one of the more unique ones Gra'ma owns.
One of these days, I'd like to do a portrait of her with her cactus collection....
Weather today was uncharacteristically warm for January. Believe it or not, temperature was as high as 82 degrees. We went to mass earlier than usual then proceeded to grab some dimsum in Anaheim. Afterwards, we took Gra'ma to the Fullerton Arboretum. I've lived in O.C. since 2002 but never been to this botanical garden. It is located just steps away from Cal State-Fullerton. This was founded by faculty members and students of then Orange State College back in the 70's and what is now known to be Cal State-Fullerton. Entrance to the garden is free but a $3.00 donation per person is recommended. It is refreshing to find places like this in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a big city.
An unusual lump of cactuses...
...macro with point & shoot turned out nice
almost looks like a photo of Arizona..
Found this spot of fallen leaves that almost looks like you're somewhere in the east coast..Gra'ma takes a crack at posing for a photo..
Rafael and Mommy...he's just warming up..
A nice photo taken by Angel. She's good at making Rafael laugh or smile before hitting that shutter.
