Vigan Trip

We were out on the road at around 10 AM. The distance from Baguio to Santiago, Ilocos Sur was about 150 km. Google maps estimated the drive time to be just a little over 4 hours. The road and traffic conditions however, told a different story. We travelled through a 2 lane (2-way) road from Baguio all the way to Ilocos. Think about driving through the inner city roads from the Bay Area to Monterey on a Friday. By the time we drove in to Santiago was about 3:30 PM. Even when were on the road for what seemed like forever, it was still a lot of fun. We literally enjoyed the journey as much as getting to our destination.

Driving through the town of Bauang which is known for garlic hence, the name.

The cousins having some quality time. JV however was suffering from nausea.

I'm curious to know what the secret is.

Space is surely used wisely on tricycles in this area

Sharing the road with literally all modes of transport.

Still hours away from our destination

A stone throw away from Santiago.

Driving into the narrow road to Vitalis Resort made the long journey really worthwhile. The resort itself finished construction about a year before but had only been running in full swing for about a month. Before then, it was in "soft-opening" mode. The place will remind you of the Island of Santorini in Greece. Everything smelled new and walls were painted white that you almost did not want to touch it for fear of leaving a stain.

More pictures coming soon.
